VENERABLE  MAR THOMAS KURIALACHERY

Bishop MarThomas Kurialacherry was the founder of Adoration Congregation. He was an eminent educationist  and social worker.He foud the Congregation of sisters of  Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in 1908.Bishop Kurialacherry was born at Champakulam Changanacherry  Archdiocese in Kerala .He was ordained  Priest at Chennankary,Kavalam ,Edathua and Champakulam in the Archdiocese.He was appointed as the first Bishop of Changanacherry on December 3 rd 1911.He found the Saint Berchman's College Changanacherry in 1922.He died in Rome and was buried there.His mortal canonization was taken up in 1983 and he was declared Servant of God on December 13th 1991.On second april 2011 Pope Benedict XVI  in an audience with  Cardinal Angelo Amato ,prefect of the congregation for the causes of Saints approved.(along with the advancement of many other sainthood causes ).A statement saying that Bishop Kurialacherry had lived a life of heroic virtue.This gave him the additional title of Venerable.He had foreseen vital importance of the uplift ,enlightment and empowerment of women.It was his vision that by educating women can create better home ,society and nation.
